Ten Times A Winner
Game mare goes in, again!

From Spies Racing on Facebook:
A tribute to Golden Aspen
Yesterday (Sunday 1 February) at Turffontein Racecourse, Golden Aspen etched her name a little deeper into the storybooks with a performance that deserves to be properly applauded.
At seven years old, after 97 career starts, this remarkable mare recorded her 10th career victory, a milestone built on consistency, toughness, and an unwavering will to compete. In an era where durability is increasingly rare, Golden Aspen stands tall as a throwback. Sound, honest, and evergreen.
Her career record tells its own story:
97 starts
10 wins
38 places
Career earnings: R 873,719
Those numbers represent far more than statistics. They reflect seasons of showing up, giving her running every time, and rewarding her connections with moments of pride again and again.
Adding a fitting layer to the day was Marco Van Rensburg in the saddle. A familiar and trusted partner, he has now guided Golden Aspen to victory eight times, reinforcing the sense that this pairing simply understands each other. Some horses just have a jockey they click with, and Golden Aspen has made that abundantly clear.
Ten wins does not happen by accident. It comes from careful management, patient training, dedicated care, and a mare who continues to answer every question put to her. Golden Aspen has never owed anyone anything, yet she continues to give plenty.
Here’s to a mare who refuses to fade quietly.
Here’s to soundness, longevity, and heart.
Here’s to Golden Aspen, ten-time winner.
A proper hurrah for a very special campaigner !
